This Privacy Policy explains how Prepped collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use imprepped.com and the related Prepped web application and services.

1. Who We Are

Prepped is operated by Prepped Group LLC and is marketed under the brand name "Prepped by REALicense." When this Privacy Policy says "we," "us," or "our," it refers to Prepped Group LLC and the Prepped platform.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the personal information we collect through Prepped, including when you create an account, purchase access, use the study tools and platform features, contact us for support, or interact with our website or app.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, products, or services that we do not control, including Stripe, Supabase, or Resend and their own services and policies.

3. Categories of Personal Information We Collect

Account and contact information: name, email address, login credentials or authentication data.

Onboarding and study profile information: target exam date, study goal, selected plan type.

Usage and progress information: questions answered, quiz and mastery scores, flashcard completion, study progress, readiness indicators, streak count, last study date, session history and feature interactions.

Transaction information: purchase status, payment confirmation details, plan purchased. We do not store your full payment card number. Payment processing is handled by Stripe.

Device and technical information: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, basic log and diagnostic data.

Advertising and analytics information: identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies, the pages you visit on our site, the ad or search that brought you here, and events such as starting checkout or completing a purchase.

Communications: emails or messages you send us, support requests, and responses related to refunds, pass guarantee claims, or account issues.

4. Sources of Personal Information

We collect personal information from the following sources:

Directly from you, when you sign up, purchase access, complete onboarding, or contact support
Automatically from your device or browser, such as usage logs, IP address, and session activity
From service providers acting on our behalf, such as payment confirmations from Stripe and hosted authentication or database services from Supabase
From advertising and analytics partners, such as Google and Meta, including which ad or search brought you to our site

5. How We Use Personal Information

We may use your personal information to:

Create and manage your account
Provide and personalize your exam prep experience
Sync your study progress across sessions or devices
Generate your study plan and readiness indicators
Deliver customer support
Process purchases and refunds
Send transactional communications, including welcome emails and service messages
Review eligibility for pass-guarantee extensions
Monitor security, prevent fraud, and maintain platform integrity
Improve the platform, question bank, and user experience
Show Prepped ads to people who have visited our site (remarketing) and measure which ads lead to sign ups and purchases
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms

6. How We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use advertising and analytics tools from Google and Meta on our website and in the study app. These companies collect identifiers stored by cookies, your IP address, the pages you visit, and events such as purchases. They use this information to show Prepped ads to people who have visited our site (remarketing), to measure our ads, and for their own purposes as described in their privacy policies. When you buy, a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address may also be sent to Google so the purchase can be matched to an ad click. Under California law, this can count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out.

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of third parties:

Payment processors, such as Stripe
Cloud hosting, database, and authentication providers, such as Supabase
Email delivery providers, such as Resend
Advertising and analytics providers, such as Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics) and Meta, as described above
Professional advisors or legal authorities, when necessary to protect rights, address fraud, comply with law, or respond to lawful process
Successors in a business transaction, if Prepped or its assets are sold, merged, or transferred

7. Storage and Service Providers

Your account and study data are stored using Supabase, including a PostgreSQL database hosted on US-based servers. Payments are processed by Stripe. Email delivery is handled by Resend. These providers process information on our behalf in connection with operating the Prepped platform.

8. Cookies, localStorage, and Similar Technologies

We use localStorage and similar browser-based tools to keep you logged in, remember session preferences, store theme selections, support temporary progress handling, and enable account-based syncing when you are logged in.

Supabase uses session-related browser storage to maintain your authenticated session.

Our website and the study app also use Google Analytics, the Google tag for Google Ads, and the Meta pixel. These tools set cookies and use similar technologies to count visits, to remember that you visited so we can show you Prepped ads on other sites and apps (remarketing), and to measure whether our ads lead to sign ups and purchases. Page addresses are cleaned before they are sent, so sign-in links and checkout details are never shared.

If you opt out on Your Privacy Choices, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, these tools run in restricted modes in that browser: Google restricted data processing is on and ad personalization is off, and the Meta pixel runs in Limited Data Use. You can also manage ads through Google Ad Settings at adssettings.google.com, Meta ad preferences at facebook.com/adpreferences, the Google Analytics opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and your browser settings.

9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of selling or sharing for that browser, and our Google and Meta tools run in the restricted modes described in section 8. There is no agreed standard for Do Not Track signals, so we do not respond to them separately.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, process refunds or pass-guarantee requests, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, or recordkeeping obligations.

If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information within 30 days, unless we need to retain certain data for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, or accounting purposes.

11. Your Rights and Choices

You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we maintain about you. To make a request, email hello@imprepped.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

You may unsubscribe from non-essential marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages. We may still send service-related emails about your account or purchases.

You can opt out of the selling or sharing of your personal information for advertising at any time on Your Privacy Choices.

12. California Privacy Rights

California residents may have certain rights under California privacy law, which can include the right to know, access, correct, or delete personal information, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing where those practices occur.

Using the advertising tools described in section 6 may count as selling or sharing personal information under California law. In the last 12 months, we have made the following categories available to Google and Meta for advertising and analytics: identifiers (such as cookie identifiers, IP address, and a hashed email address when you buy), internet or other electronic network activity (such as pages viewed and the ads that brought you here), and commercial information (such as a completed purchase).

To opt out, use Your Privacy Choices or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. To exercise your other privacy rights, email hello@imprepped.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

13. Children's Privacy

Prepped is intended for users preparing for the California DRE Salesperson exam and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information without appropriate authorization, we will delete it.

14. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version and update the "Last updated" date above.
